AKA weight loss surgical procedures, this is a branch of medicine that helps to treat people with obesity. Through these procedures, the stomach size is either removed or reduced to achieve the desired results. Some procedures also take the help of a small stomach pouch that is connected directly to the small intestines. This is termed as a Gastric Bypass.

Gastric Band Surgery

One of the most effective forms of dealing with obesity, the gastric band surgery is a specialized surgery wherein a laparoscope is used to place an adjustable silicon band around the upper stomach of the patient. The main aim of this surgery is to educe the amount of food intake at a given time.

Gastric Bypass

Another form of obesity treatment – the gastric bypass is a procedure where in a stomach pouch is created and is attached to the small intestines. With this surgery, the stomach pouch bypasses the duodenum and lower stomach. This surgery helps to also reduce the food intake as well as lose weight.

Endoscopic Surgery

Endoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgery that is done to treat and/or diagnose diseases. In this procedure, small incisions are made in the body; or at times, even the natural openings of the body may be used for the insertion of scopes.
